The company was founded in 1977 by John Dalton IV. John’s passion for customer service and his commitment to the core values of integrity, family, and professional relationships has enabled the company to grow steadily over the years. 

Today, CERTIFIED is led by John’s son, Justin Dalton, who is CEO. Justin leads with a new vision for marketplace leadership and accelerated growth within the sustainability industry, driven by the same passion for customer service excellence and the core values that have built the company into the midst of its sixth decade.

CERTIFIED has full-service recycling and processing facilities located in Anaheim (Company headquarters) and San Diego.

CERTIFIED is majority-owned by Broadview Group Holdings and EXI Investment Partners, in partnership with the Company’s executive leadership team.
