FLSA Status: Full-time, Non-exempt

Salary Range: $18-$20

 

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will be responsible for weighing incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring accurate measurements, and maintaining detailed records.

 

Duties/responsibilities

• Operate scales to weigh materials accurately.

• Record weight data in the system.

• Processes customer transactions smoothly and efficiently, keeping traffic moving efficiently while maintaining excellent levels of accuracy.

• Coordinate with yard staff for material handling.

• Utilize warehouse management systems for tracking purposes.

• Inspect and maintain equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, and reach trucks.

• Adhere to OSHA regulations for safety compliance.

• Assist in shipping and receiving tasks as needed.

 

Required Skills/abilities

• Experience in heavy equipment operation.

• Proficiency in using warehouse management systems.

• Knowledge of materials handling procedures.

• Ability to operate order pickers, clamp trucks, reach trucks, and forklift.

• Familiarity with equipment repair and maintenance.

• Strong understanding of shipping and receiving processes.

• Receives and handles phone calls and face-to-face interactions in an efficient, professional, and friendly manner.

 

education and experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• At least two years related experience required.

 

physical requirements

• The work is typically performed while sitting or standing.

• The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 1‐30 lbs.

• The employee must occasionally lift light objects and use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity.

• The work is performed in a yard setting that is often noisy.
